For the non-fishing
members in your party, or if you just need a break from catching
fish, there are plenty of local attractions and activities to
keep everyone occupied. Below we have given a brief description
of our personal favourites:

Just 20 minutes away, Vitre is one of the best preserved medieval
towns in France. Quaint bars, shops and restaurants nestle
in the cobbled streets surrounding the Chateau.
LAVAL
Laval is a major town less than half an hour’s drive away.
Laval has a number of museums, busy boutiques and restaurants
as well as a traditional market. The Chateau at Laval overlooks
the river Mayenne, where you can hire a boat for a trip down
the river.
CHATEAU GONTIER
Chateau Gontier is a beautiful 4*Ville Fleurie (Town of Flowers)
on the Mayenne river which has a large street and cattle market
each Thursday.
REFUGE DE L’ARCHE

and friendly animal refuge / sanctuary which houses about 1500
animals of around 150 different species in over 450 hectares.
CHOCOLATE FACTORY
An
absolute must. Tour the factory and taste the chocolate.
CRAON
The town of Craon has a magnificent 18th century Chateau with
42 hectares of parkland to explore.
COSSE LE VIVIEN
Here you will find the Museum of Robert Tatin. Fantastic architecture
created by Robert Tatin (1902-1983). Paintings, designs, ceramics
testify to this artist's diverse creativity.
MONT ST. MICHAEL
The clean sandy beach at Mont Saint Michael is 90 minutes away,
and is famous for its abbey and walled city at the end of a
causeway out in the sea. As well as exploring the abbey, there
are many great shops and restaurants.
GOLF
There are numerous golf courses between 45 minutes and a hour
away from the venue.
PARIS
Enjoy a day in the capital city of France. Take the TGV (fast
trains) from either Vitre in 2 hours or Laval in 1 hour 45
minutes.
The above are just a few of the many attractions in and around
this beautiful region of France, this list could be endless.
Further details and brochures on the above, and many other things
